Mom finds my sketches “a little weird“. One would suspect she’s never browsed the internet! But I know she has. She also finds Mary Engelbreit’s works totally wonderful… and loves Engeldark too. So your guess is as good as mine why she thinks my stuff is just a little too something for her. 

On the other hand, she filled my childhood with Mary Engelbreit, Garth Williams, Trina Schart Hyman, Maurice Sendak, Tasha Tudor, Ernest H. Shephard. (She’d’ve included Jill Barklem too but I was mostly grown by then.) So I have no complaints!

Anyway, she wanted something a little “sweeter”, so this is for her.
