More practice work.
I saw a short video about why a person had switched to only sketching in ink. The idea is that not erasing forces you to redraw something if you didn’t like it, and that means extra practice.
I think that’s a great idea!
Yes/and…I really love drawing with pencil and I love the textures that produces.
Upshot? Draw more. Practice more.
Now that my mother-in-law has moved in, the project of turning my/our office/never-quite-became-the-library/studio-ish/projects-and-art storage room into her bedroom is pretty much done. There’s a few small things to finish up like outlet covers. That suggest some possibility of practice time.
On the other hand, my office got moved to the top floor and it is, shall we say, a shambles. It is a collection of bags and boxes and disassembled furniture that covers most of the floor. So… there’s a lot of work up there. I am actually quite intimidated and not very clear where I should begin so that I can also begin again working from home. And I still have to do a mess of bookkeeping for taxes, and all that. Yikes.
But in the meantime, darn it, I’m at least keeping up with my Sketchbook obligations on Patreon!
Love you guys and thank you very much.
