You just know he’s going to set those aflame, right?
I don’t think I’ve ever had figgy pudding! But we learned a song in first grade about it (as part of a Christmas pageant/play that we put on — “Oh bring us our figgy pudding!” — all 12 or so of us in our one-room school house. Yes, really, 12, one-room. Actually, I can only think of John, Tom, Katie, Chrissy, Heidi, Lori and me that year, but I think there were more. Liza, maybe? Hmmm. Next year, Tom and John had gone on to the other school but Jiffy, Erin, Kurt, and Rowan had joined us. I’m definitely missing people. Or mixing up years! It was 1st through 3rd anyway, and I went for 2 years. For 4th grade we rode a (short) bus to the next bigger/more central school…
In my defense, I am middle-aged now, and my memory is full of things I can’t seem to offload fully, like eye doc and orthodontist appointments, grocery lists, many many stories, and far more Things I Want To Draw or Paint.
Like dragons. Serving figgy pudding.
