Sketchbook:

sketch by Kir Talmage of adult human woman holding a walking stick as a perch for a bird; several large stones are behind her.

I scribble-sketched this maybe a week or three ago.  Sunday night, while the four of us streamed some episodes of Deep Space Nine and my son and I boiled down some maple sap into syrup at the same time, I fixed the tunic/cape thing, added some shading, added the stones. I didn’t mean to be multitasking; it just happened.

I don’t know what her story is. The bird didn’t come through the stone steps with her; it arrived as she caught her breath and grounded her feet. Maybe it is the Greeter or maybe it has a message.

This feels incomplete to me but the sketch is done. (It just is. Even though there’s more in my head.) Maybe it’s meant to become a painting or something.
