Coloring Goodness for November // Reading Rabbit

[** Update: downloads are archived after two months—or more—so for patrons have plenty of time to access them. Sometimes it’s much longer! I removed these over a year after posting! I make the post public when i archive the downloads, though, so more people can see the idea and the and process. —Kir **]

I love curling up with old books on rainy days. I suspect you do too…. It’s raining today, as I finish up these scans and conversions and whatnot to prepare this post.

I like deep rich jewel tones but the light I’m under as I make this coloring preview illustration isn’t working for me and my weird eyes today.  Maybe I’ll try again, printing this on heavier paper and get a stuffie so I can demo the shadows more for myself. Maybe I’ll try in paint and touches of gold leaf for fun. Though that might distract from the rabbit.

This is one of the Tiny Tin illustrations, too, by the way. Yay for having another one cleaned up! (Head’s up: you may see this again on a cover of an APA I’m in, and I’m still working on that bigger project for all these once-tiny illustrations.)

I’d love to see how you color this too! How do you imagine your own library-warren?

Oh and that reminds me: Have any of you also read/enjoyed Genevieve Cogman’s Invisible Library series? I’m pleased to see there are more than I knew of!

Be warm, be safe, be healthy, be happy!
