Um, you might possibly have seen this on Facebook already, or its preview. It’s for the Bird Whisperer Project, July 2018 ( https://www.facebook.com/events/172257113524436/ ) Other astonishing bits of life interfered with finishing this in time, but that’s ok.
What do you think? What works, could be improved next time, delights, amuses?
I hope to scan this soon, because the colors will show up a little better. Plus that’s how I want to share it with the Project… A frame would make the paper flat… but I’m not sure how to show you that the crown feathers (and the crown) both have some iridescent medium (really a very fine silver glittery stuff) added to them. A video? Probably shouldn’t try to record that while littlerKid is watching silly movies in the same room, thought!
The original is available. It’s about 5″ by 9″—I’ll get more details and post a comment. Do you think prints or cards would work too?
Nattering about the process: If I were to do this again, I’d give it a darker background color —though I’m happy with that texture, which is more or less what I’d hoped for; I’m looking forward to trying to improve that technique. I’m super thrilled with the feathers, which are more like what I was referring too and imagining that I thought my fingers could do.

The Bird Whisperer project album: Other people’s work. SO much fun to browse. Go see! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1859779660996516.1073741874.1604323873208764&type=1&l=f2cad44a25
